What is the meaning of adapt?
Adapt means to “make (something) suitable for a new use or purpose; modify,” or to “become adjusted to new conditions.”
We all learn to adapt, most of us have been doing it since we were young. Whether it’s adapting to a new school, a new home, a new job, or a new lifestyle, we all have some experience.
I’m still adapting to my new life as a new mom. The switch in routine, the change in my sleep schedule (if I get any), are just some things I’m STILL getting used to at 7 months post-partum! To add to that, currently at RIVA we’re moving into a new office space. I know that once we move, we all have to get used to driving to the office location, our new rooms, the training set-ups, & and just the new atmosphere in general. I’m really excited for the change in scenery.
At our current location, it’s a shared office space, so I’m used to seeing people with different companies and occupations. The new location will just be us. I think I’ll miss seeing different faces and having random conversations, but I also like the privacy of our own space. I can’t wait to set my desk up and have it organized just the way I like.
At RIVA we’re always adapting, from adapting to new tasks/instruction, to new updates to our workbooks/textbooks, new materials, new courses, new clients, timelines, the list goes on. When something happens unexpectedly or does not go as planned, the RIVETTES are quick to adjust and does what’s best for our students or clients in the moment.
It might be short-term changes or long-term, but I think change can be a good thing.
Learning to adapt in a workspace can be challenging, that’s why it’s so important to have a great team bond and clear communication.
