Course Description
RIVA 207 – Fundamentals of IDI Moderating, has been specially developed for qualitative researchers who are looking to conduct one-on-one interviews with individuals.
This intensive 4-day course focuses on principles and best practices for conducting effective In-Depth Interviews. The process of talking to one person in an interview setting requires a different skill set than talking to multiple respondents in a focus group setting. RIVA 207 provides an experiential, multi-faceted training environment for students to learn the fundamentals of In-Depth Interviews in general and, specifically, what works/does not work when doing an In-Depth Interview, as well as practice what they’ve learned. Students will sharpen their skills through repeated tasks that build exponentially and through constant and individualized feedback and coaching.
